AI Cybersecurity for Dutch Companies: Anomalies Instead of Rules
The average Dutch organization discovers a cyber breach only after 197 days. By then, the average damage is €4.2M.

Cybersecurity for businesses is shifting from building walls to spotting anomalies: attacks arrive through a valid account, not a hole in the firewall. That is what AI is good at and a rule set is not. This is what that means in practice.
AI Cybersecurity for the Dutch Market
The Netherlands is one of the most digitally connected economies in the world, making it an attractive target for cybercriminals. The Dutch National Cyber Security Centre publishes an annual Cybersecuritybeeld Nederland with the current threat assessment; consult it for figures on your sector. The pattern it reports is consistent: attacks are becoming less technical and more targeted at people and at valid accounts.
Traditional cybersecurity is reactive: you detect an attack after it has already occurred. AI cybersecurity is proactive: it detects anomalous behavior before an attack succeeds.
How AI Cybersecurity Works
AI learns the normal behavioral pattern of every user, device and system in your network. Deviations are detected in milliseconds. When a threat is detected, the AI system responds automatically: infected endpoints are isolated, suspicious accounts are blocked, and the security team receives a complete incident report.
Where the difference sits
A rule set catches attacks somebody has already described. The pattern you miss today is the attack through a valid account: correct credentials, unusual behaviour. That is what anomaly detection is for. What determines the result is your log coverage — a model can only see what gets recorded, and in most companies that is less than assumed.
